Dr. Lexi Muniz Brandenburg
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Lexi Muniz Brandenburg is excited to be the new owner of The Veterinary Center at Hunter's Crossing. She is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, and also completed her undergraduate work at UF while competing on the Track and Field team. Dr. Brandenburg is proud to be a Gator; her roots run deep in Gainesville. Her grandfather was a psychiatry professor at UF and the Chief of Psychiatry at the VA Hospital in Gainesville, and her dad is a graduate of the College of Engineering. Although she enjoyed working in Keystone Heights since graduating, Dr. Brandenburg is fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning her own veterinary clinic in Gainesville. She looks forward to serving her community through excellent care and down to earth, communication, while treating clients and their pets with compassion. Dr. Brandenburg resides in the vicinity of the Veterinary Center at Hunter's Crossing with her husband, Bud, and their two dogs. She has shown horses since a very young age and continues to do so with her horse, Pete. When she's not preparing for a horse show, Dr. Brandenburg spends her free time playing kickball and soccer, biking, jogging, and going to Gator football games. She and Bud also love to travel and to experience diverse local cuisine. Dr. Brandenburg looks forward to meeting you and your pets!

Dr. Andrew Kicera
Veterinarian
Dr. Andrew Kicera, originally from upstate New York, earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2015. Since graduating, he has gained valuable experience in preventative medicine, patient care, client relations, and soft tissue surgery, working in both general practice and shelter clinic settings. Outside of work, Dr. Kicera enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their assortment of animals. He is also a passionate hobby beekeeper, fascinated by the world of bees and the importance of pollinators. In addition, he loves snorkeling the reefs in South Florida and exploring new places through travel.

Dr. Kelly Bullett
Veterinarian
Dr. Kelly Bullett graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She began her career in Upstate New York before returning back to Gainesville where she feels most at home. She has developed a particular interest in caring for senior pets and supporting families through palliative and end-of-life care. Dr. Bullett values the long-term relationships she builds with both pets and their people and is passionate about helping animals age with dignity and comfort.
At home, she and her husband stay busy with their two young daughters, a lively bulldog named Hank, and two beloved cats, London and Savannah. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cheering on the Gators, doing puzzles, and taking evening walks with her family.

Maudrey
Manager, Technician
Maudrey is a Florida native who has grown up with a love for all animals. Having been raised on a small farm, she has years of experience with livestock and companion animals. Maudrey's work experience in Veterinary Medicine includes everything from being a receptionist to her employment as a technician. After working with Dr. Brandenburg for the past 4 years, we are excited to have her in her new role as Clinic Manager at The Veterinary Center. When Maudrey is not loving and caring for other people's animals, you can find her spending time with her daughter, her family, and her own pets.

Elissa who is originally from NJ, has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years, first as a Receptionist, then Hospital Manager and has now returned to the position of a Receptionist. She graduated from Palm Beach State College in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Administration. She has a strong love of all animals and has many pets at home, including a 200 lb tortoise. She has a long history of volunteer work with state parks, zoos, scouting, animal rescues and sea turtle protection groups. When not working, she spends her free time hiking, birding, kayaking, pretty much anything outdoors and spending time with her four Grandchildren.

She recently earned her Master’s degree from the University of Florida and has completed her application to veterinary school. Driven by a deep passion for both animals and client education, Sophia is committed to advancing her career in veterinary medicine. In her personal time, she enjoys bonding with her dog, Simba, and nurturing her collection of plants. Sophia is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and looks forward to warmly greeting you and your pet at our clinic.

Having grown up around livestock and always surrounded by household animals, her passion for animal welfare led her from an assistant role to her new position as technician. Currently pursuing her AA Degree in Animal Science at Santa Fe College, she is determined to further her career in Veterinary Medicine. Outside of work and studies, she enjoys pet sitting and spending time with friends and family.

She has spent the past five years building her career in veterinary medicine and is currently working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. When she's not at the clinic or studying, Jessica loves spending time with her daughter, Scarlett, and making memories with her family. She's also an avid reader who enjoys unwinding with a good book, and at home she's kept on her toes by her dachshund, Fuji, who never fails to make her smile. Jessica loves getting to know each pet's unique personality and values the relationships she builds with both her patients and their families. She takes pride in making every visit as comfortable and positive as possible while providing compassionate, attentive care.

She graduated from the University of Florida with a major in Zoology and a minor in Music and is currently pursuing her Master's in Shelter Medicine at UF. Passionate about animal welfare and community-focused veterinary work, she plans to apply to veterinary school upon completing her graduate degree. In addition to her studies, she works part-time as an Agricultural Assistant at UF's Dairy Unit, where she gains valuable hands-on experience with livestock. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time outdoors. With a particular interest in shelter medicine, she is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of animals and the people who care for them.

Assistant
Leighton has always had a passion for animals, especially those in need. Outside of the clinic, she helps run Poochie's Pet Rescue, where she spends much of her time caring for rescue animals and helping them find forever families. At home, she shares her life with her family dog, Brutus, and several rescue pets. She also has a special love for snakes and enjoys educating others about these often misunderstood animals. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her horses, Creed and Magic, and heading out on the water to go scalloping. Whether she's caring for patients at the clinic or helping rescue animals in the community, Leighton brings the same dedication and enthusiasm to everything she does.
